The BMC cotton sports air filter is specifically designed to be installed in the airbox of the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 and Thruxton 1200, as a direct replacement for the original air filter. Made from high-performance materials, it enhances airflow to the engine, optimising breathing and contributing to a more responsive and smoother throttle.
Compared to OEM paper or foam filters, the BMC filter ensures a superior filtration capacity, capturing impurities down to 7 microns (ISO 5011 certified), compared to approximately 10 microns for the original filters. This means cleaner air, better engine protection, and consistent performance over time.
BMC Construction Technology
BMC air filters are manufactured using the exclusive Full Moulding process, which allows for a one-piece filter without glued corners, eliminating weak points and ensuring superior durability.
The distinctive BMC red rubber retains perfect shape and fit over time, precisely adapting to the airbox of the Triumph 1200 models.
The filter material consists of multi-layered cotton soaked in low-viscosity oil, enclosed between aluminium mesh treated with epoxy resin, to resist humidity, oxidation, and fuel vapours.
