The BMC cotton sports air filter is specifically designed to be installed in the airbox of the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 and Thruxton 1200, as a direct replacement for the original air filter. Made from high-performance materials, it improves airflow to the engine, optimising breathing and contributing to a quicker, smoother response.
Compared to OEM paper or foam filters, the BMC filter guarantees superior filtration capacity, retaining impurities down to 7 microns (ISO 5011 certification), compared to approximately 10 microns for the original filters. This means cleaner air, greater engine protection and consistent performance over time.
BMC construction technology
BMC air filters are manufactured using the exclusive Full Moulding process, which makes it possible to produce a one-piece filter without glued corners, eliminating weak points and ensuring greater durability.
The distinctive BMC red rubber maintains its shape and a perfect seal over time, fitting precisely into the airbox of the Triumph 1200 models.
The filter material is made of multi-layer cotton soaked in low-viscosity oil, enclosed between aluminium meshes treated with epoxy resin, to resist humidity, oxidation and fuel vapours.
