The BMC sport air filter in oiled cotton is designed to replace the original airbox filter, ensuring increased airflow to the engine and improved performance compared to paper or foam filters.
Made from high-performance materials, it ensures high filtration efficiency and long service life.
Thanks to its multi-layer structure and low-viscosity oil treatment, the BMC filter traps impurities down to 7 microns, certified to the international ISO 5011 standard. By comparison, OEM paper filters normally trap particles down to 10 microns, offering lower protection.
The exclusive “Full Moulding” manufacturing process gives the filter its typical red colour and eliminates the need for adhesives, avoiding weak points prone to breakage. The special rubber used is durable, non-deformable and ensures a perfect seal to the airbox.
The filter material consists of oiled cotton gauze enclosed between two aluminium mesh screens treated with epoxy resin, which protects them from oxidation caused by fuel and moisture. All BMC filters are washable and regenerable using the dedicated cleaning kit, offering considerable savings over time compared to disposable filters.
